Community & Charities

REN is operated as a Community Interest Company (not for profit). As such we endeavour to do our bit for local causes and community groups.

Here we highlight some of the community and charity groups we run or support. Our help varies depending on the need of the group and covers a range of areas we can help with. So, if you need help or maybe want to help us please look over what we do and get in touch.

Who We Support

The Lord Kitchener’s Memorial Holiday Centre

Initiated by Rev F.W.Emms as a holiday home for ex-servicemen of whom there were a great number in the latter stages of and immediately after the 1914-18 war. It was named in honour ‘of the finest soldier Britain ever produced’. Now in 2020, they open their doors, not just for ex-military but also those who are ex-emergency services.

Rich sits on the Management board here and helps out with various aspects of running the centre when needed.

Armed Forces Day

On the run-up to the 2020 Armed Forces Day, Rich was a member of the planning committee.

This event was unfortunately cancelled due to the virus outbreak but it will be back for 2021.

Armed Forces Covenant

We currently sit as a Bronze level support of this amazing initiative.

We offer various support for those in the Military community, from course assistance to being there for a “brew/wet” if someone needs a chat.

Ormiston Denes Academy

We have been providing First Aid training here for the past few years and is for the Year 7 to 9 students. It forms part of their Enrichment studies and we have new students every half-term. Class sizes are on average 10 students, lasting an hour and a half, over 6 to 8 weeks of the term.

The students are taught CPR, how to use an AED, recovery position and other basic life-saving skills. We offer these lessons for free, as we believe First Aid should be taught to children as well as adults.

First Aid Cadets Institute

This is a new youth initiative that is coming soon.

Lowestoft Flood Defence Scheme

We have sat on a number of business-based meetings in regards to improving the flood defences of Lowestoft and will continue to offer support to this project. We are also in the planning stages of how we will be able to help in the event of a flood.

Allsorts Support Services CIC

REN Coaching & Training provides training courses on a number of topics, as well as First Aid cover during groups and events.

Parent First Aid

Choking is one of the biggest causes of death for children under the age of 5 in England.

We plan to help change that by running this free course for all parents with children ages 5 and below.

It will include guidance on how to limit choking, how to deal with a baby/child who is choking and how to perform baby/child CPR.
